My insurance career began in 1985 working for a direct writer. Left them in 1987 and have worked for two different independent insurance agencies, before starting Shepard Insurance Agency in 1998. I have over 20 years of experience in all lines of insurance and currently specialize in commercial insurance to the business community. This agency is dedicated to exceptional service standards to our clients. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Marketing.

Hello, I'm Mike McLarty. My insurance career began in 2000' as a property/casualty, and agricultural producer at an agricultural coop agency. My employer changed in 2002' to a sister company, Shepard Insurance Agency. In 2005' I relocated my office to the Shepard Agency in McAllen, Texas. Texas A&M is my Alma Mater, with a degree in Plant and Soil Science. I have lived in the Rio Grande Valley since 1983 with my wife, Diane and two children, Morgan and Courtney. The Rio Grande Valley is my home and I am dedicated to making it a better place to live and work. | |

I started my insurance career as a Life/Health agent in 1992. Later on I got my license in Property/Casualty as a General Lines Agent and have since focused on Commercial Lines accounts.
